Zhengzhou Shang Dynasty Capital Site
The Zhengzhou Shang Dynasty Capital Site is situated in the old city area of Zhengzhou, covering 25 square kilometers. Located at the center of the site is the Zhengzhou Shang City, an early Shang Dynasty capital with a history of 3600 years. Known as the "Bo Du" constructed by King Tang of the Shang Dynasty, it is a significant large city site in the early history of Chinese and world civilizations. Designated as a key national cultural relic on March 4, 1961, Zhengzhou was declared a national historical and cultural city in 1974 due to the status and importance of Zhengzhou Shang City. Furthermore, in 2004, it was recognized as one of China's Eight Ancient Capitals by the Chinese Society for Ancient Capital Studies and became a member of the League of Historical Cities.
