The Press Conference Was Held for the 2024 Zhengzhou Double World Championships

The press conference of 2024 Modern Pentathlon World Championships，Paris Olympic Modern Pentathlon Qualifiers and 2024 Laser Run World Championships (referred to as Zhengzhou Double World Championships), hosted by UIPM, jointly organized by China Modern Pentathlon Association, Henan Sports Bureau, and Zhengzhou Municipal People's Government, co-organized by Zhengzhou Administration of Sports and Zhongyuan District People's Government, and operated by Zhengzhou Cultural Tourism and Sports Group Co., Ltd., was grandly held at the press conference hall of Zhengzhou Municipal People's Government at 3:00 p.m on September 26th, 2023.

Ji Daoming, President of CMPA, and, Dr. Klaus Schormann, President of UIPM, made a wonderful speech on behalf of the undertakers and the organizers, elaborating on the spirit of Modern Pentathlon, and the significance of holding the Modern Pentathlon in China, and thanking the host for their efforts and support to the implementation of Zhengzhou Double World Championships.

Subsequently, Chen Hongmin, Vice Mayor of Zhengzhou Municipal People's Government, announced the event: Zhengzhou Double World Championships will be held in Zhengzhou Olympic Sports Center and supporting venues from May 30, 2024, to June 9, 2024, and every effort will be done to make all the preparations for Zhengzhou Double World Championships.

2024 Modern Pentathlon World Championships and Paris Olympic Games are both international A-level events. Modern Pentathlon is one of the 25 fixed events in the Olympic Games, including five items of equestrian, fencing, swimming and laser-run (running + shooting). 2024 Modern Pentathlon World Championships is the international A-level (top) event and the qualifying event for Paris Olympic Games. Hundreds of the highest level male and female athletes from over 50 member countries of UIPM will register to compete for 14 gold medals in 7 events of Modern Pentathlon World Championships.
Laser-run is a national movement created by UIPM for people of all ages. Laser-run was developed from running and shooting events, is one of the official Olympic events in the Modern Pentathlon competition. 2024 Laser Run World Championships consists of 12 categories including U9, U11, U13, U15, U17, U19, Youth, Adult, M40, M50, M60, M70, etc., each group has 7 events including women's relay, men's relay, women's team, women's individual, men's team, men's individual, and mixed relay. On the occasion, thousands of male and female athletes from around the world will compete for 168 gold medals in 7 events of Laser Run World Championships.
With the theme of "green, open, ecological, science and technology", and with a more environmentally friendly, inclusive and open attitude, the Championships will hold an ecological international competition that integrates technological innovation and cultural, tourism, and sports industries. The theme of green, open, ecological, scientific and technological sports events plays an important significance in promoting the sustainable development, fair competition, environmental awareness, scientific and technological innovation of sports events. These themes not only improve the existing mode of sports events, but also provide new enlightenment and path for the development of competitive sports.
Zhengzhou Double World Championships will be one of the highest level international events ever held in Zhengzhou. It will also be the first time for China to hold two world championships in the same city, and the most important qualifying event before the 2024 Paris Olympic Games. As the host country, the Chinese team will participate in all 91 events of Zhengzhou Double World Championships and compete for the medals of 91 events of Modern Pentathlon World Championships and Laser Run World Championships! On the occasion, more than 2,000 outstanding athletes from more than 60 countries will gather in Zhengzhou, but also attract tens of thousands of spectators and visitors from both inside and abroad to Zhengzhou to watch the wonderful games, and experience the passion of Modern Pentathlon and the charm of Zhengzhou in Henan Province
