Hometown of Du Fu Scenic Area overlooks the capital of Henan Province, Zhengzhou, to the east, and the ancient capital of Luoyang, which has witnessed the rise and fall of nine dynasties, to the west. In the south, it is adjacent to the magnificent Mount Song, one of the Five Great Mountains of China, while to the north lies the mighty Yellow River, the cradle of civilization. This place holds great significance as it is the birthplace and upbringing site of Du Fu, one of China's greatest realistic poets. It presents a beautifully crafted cultural landscape that authentically reflects the life of this poetic genius.
In the year 712 AD, Du Fu was born in a humble cave nestled beneath Pen Stand Mountain. It was here that his profound connection with poetry began, nurtured by the flowing waters of the Yi River. Du Fu's poetry is hailed as a testament to history, and he himself is revered as the "Poet Sage," leaving an indelible mark on the world's literary heritage.
